I lay awake this lovely morn.
And watch the light increase
And turn to watch you as you sleep
So lovely and at peace.
Your breathing is so soft and slow
You hardly make a sound,
And as I lay and watch you sleep
My feelings are profound.
I watch you with admiring eyes
While peacefully you lay
And patiently I wait to hear
The first words you will say.
Then gently as I touch your form
You turn and smile and then
While cuddling, I'm happier
Than I've ever been.
