I've seen the face of loneliness
I've seen the face of fear.
I've watched the sadness in the eyes
I've watched the falling tear.

Where once there was a smiling face
Instead I've seen a frown
And watched the slumping shoulders of
A person feeling down.

But then I watched the light come back
Into those twinkling eyes
And witnessed as those shoulders squared
With feelings on the rise.

I watched the frowns and sadness leave
As something took their place
And watched the smiles instead return
To that familiar face.

And best of all I know the cause
As happiness returned
I watched the Light of Christ come in
And felt the bosom burn.

The guilt and fear, they went away
As faith and hope came in
And freedom was the blessing from
The life that turned from sin.

And now I see the love shine bright
As in that face I see
Reflections from the mirror of life
The one I've watched is me.
