It seemed as though the world stood still,
As you walked in that day.
I couldn't take my eyes off you,
But lost, were words to say.

Then suddenly you turned to me,
Your loving eyes met mine,
And then I knew my heart was yours,
T'was easy to define.

Your smile caressed my lonely heart,
And then you took my hand.
While tears welled in my softened eyes,
My legs would hardly stand.

Then as I felt the sacred wounds,
That scarred your hands and feet,
I knew that you were Jesus Christ,
Who made my life complete!

You hugged me then and as my tears,
Fell down my reddened cheeks,
I felt the love you've always shared,
Through all the days and weeks.

Oh Lord, my joy is over-full,
At last I'm home with thee.
And here we are within your home,
And now my soul is free.
