Spring Days
As I woke up the other day
I heard the birds outside.
They chirped and sang their special songs
And sang them each with pride

I jumped from bed and then got dressed
And hurried out to see,
The birds, the trees and blooming things;
How lovely they will be.

I strolled out on the covered porch
And sniffed the morning air,
Then found the sweetest scent of blooms;
A smell beyond compare.

I watch the birds and feel the warmth
As mem'ries flood my thought.
This scent was like the sweet perfume
That just for you I'd bought.

And then I glory in the thought
That with you I'd soon be.
I'll smell that scent and feel your arms
As they hold tight 'round me.

Now with these lovely Spring times thoughts
This awesome day will start.
I'm grateful for Spring days and love,
As you live in my heart.
