While lying on the grass one night
My eyes were heaven bound.
My gaze fixed on a special light
I wondered what I'd found.

I concentrated long and hard
And hoped that I would see,
This object that had caught my eye
And seemed to come t'ward me.

I was amazed to see this thing
As close to me it came.
For it was not a "thing" at all,
She was a lovely dame.

She looked and then she smiled at me
And called my name out loud.
Her lovely face was plain to see
I smiled and felt so proud.

And then I finally realized,
This person I could see.
She was my Guardian Angel and
She came to visit me.

But more than that, I knew her face
I'd seen her many times.
We shared our pictures and our words
And often thought in rhymes.

I know you now, you are the one
That came to me that night,
And shared with me a wondrous time.
I see you in new light.
