There is a place with in my mind
Where all the world is left behind,
A place that I can go to be
The person that is really me.
Within this place I'll be alone
No noise or ringing telephone.
In here my thoughts I clearly see
And here I'll never be angry.
It's here with all pretence aside
Where I am stripped of all my pride
Humility then covers me
As I spend time on bended knee.
I find in here, the "Iron rod"
A place where I can talk with God
And while my batteries are charged
My spirit and my soul enlarged.
And now empowered with his love
I give my thanks to God above
And to the world there is no trace
That I've been in my private place.
I wish that I could always be
In this place of tranquility
But now recharged, again I see
How best to be, all I can be.
