One Quiet Night

I dreamed a dream one quiet night;
A vision crisp and clear.
I saw within the vision's term
An image I hold dear.

I saw within this colored scene
My distant relatives;
My native brothers proud and strong
Who's spirit, in me lives.

I also saw Tatanka there
So powerful and strong.
Those mighty buffalo with whom
My brothers did belong.

They lived together on the land
And in their face I see,
A courage and a strength to live
Their lives so honorably.

It was their spirits that I saw
And this I do decree.
They'll live, if only in my dreams
Through out eternity.
