I'm glad that driving isn't like
The lives we live each day,
For if it were we'd likely crash,
And this is what we'd say.
"I could not see my way ahead,
The path was so unclear,
But everything was visible,
When I look to the rear.
While looking in the rear-view mirror
So plainly I could see;
But ran into that stupid tree,
That jumped in front of me.
If I could see the road ahead
As well as to the back,
I could have stayed upon the road
And likely stayed on track"
Perhaps if we would prayerfully
View where we want to be,
The obstacles in front of us,
Much sooner we would see.
I think I'll try this simple plan
So on my knees each day,
I'll pray for God to light my path,
Then, I'll go on my way.
My view would then be clearer as
I focus up ahead,
The Light of Christ to guide me,
And with scripture words I read.
