Summer Fun

I love the summer time of year,
There’s much to see and do,
But most of all I love to spend,
These special days with you.

And something that I really like,
To do each time we can,
Is go out to the place they play,
And be a baseball fan.

I love the smells of fresh-cut grass,
And infields watered down,
And programs with the player’s names;
How could we wear a frown?

And then the players take the field,
The umpire cleans the plate,
Then “Batter-up” is called out loud.
This game is simply great!

We cheer and call the “Ump” some names
Root for our favorite team,
And hope we catch a fowl ball,
For that would be a dream.

Yes, Baseball is My favorite game,
I hope you love it too,
For how else could I have such fun,
Than spend this game with you.
