This morning at the break of dawn,
While thinking of my day,
A bluebird came and landed near,
With chirping things to say.
At first I thought it would fly off,
But soon was mesmerized,
While watching how it acted, then
I came to realize.
For reasons I can't understand,
This bird of awesome blue,
Was giving me a message that,
I know had come from you.
Though strange and unbelievable,
Its words were oh-so clear,
For magically I understood,
The chirps that reached my ear.
"I love you so, my precious love,
And ever will it be"
Then joy welled up within my heart,
For words that came from thee.
And then I held my arm out still,
As then the bluebird came,
Then when the bluebird looked at me,
My message was the same.
Oh please fly back and tell my love,
I got her message clear,
And tell her that I love her too,
For always, plus a year.
And then the bluebird winked at me,
It smiled then flew away,
And somehow, at this break of dawn,
You'll feel those words I say.
