A Perfect Day by James O'Brien

The oil lamp provides a glow
That softly lights the night,
And with the warmth of fireplace,
I see a lovely sight.

This light that flickers through the room
Illuminates your form,
And brightens feelings that I have,
That makes me feel so warm.

Now in this small and cozy place
While snow abounds outside,
I feel a warm and growing love
That has no need to hide.

And as the evening drifts away,
While winter chills the air,
We share expressions of our love,
With words we so declare.

I'm grateful for this special time,
This time I spend with you,
And share these things we feel inside
That warms me through and through.

And now with fire freshly stoked,
I have these words to say,
With you here in my loving arms
This is my perfect day.
