We Celebrate

This is a wondrous time of year,
When malls and shops are filled with cheer,
As people smile and laugh a lot,
From gramps down to the tiny tot.

The lights that twinkle here or there,
That advertise some things to share,
The colored wrap and Christmas bows
Are season's joys, I do suppose.

But now we have some leaves to rake,
Some meals to plan for family's sake,
Some firewood to split with care
And pies to make and some to share.

Our homes that smell so good these days,
And thanks we show in many ways
Bring life and love and smiles that shine,
To families like yours and mine.

And so we celebrate this year
With gratitude and festive cheer,
We also pray to God above,
As we acknowledge Him with love.
