The other day I had a chat
While kneeling by my bed.
I thanked the Lord for blessings,
As each thought went through my head.

I thanked Him for my family
And thanked Him for my friends,
Then thanked Him for the many gifts,
From Him, He daily sends.

And then I asked if He would shed
His light on me today,
That I may see a better path
To guide me on my way.

Then as I listened quietly,
The answer came so clear.
“Have faith and read the scriptures
And you’ll know the path to steer!”
