Life's Delight

I love to watch the fireplace
And feel the warmth it gives,
And love the flow of random thoughts
And feelings I re-live.

The hours that so quickly pass,
When thoughts are free to roam,
Are sometimes lent to traveling thoughts,
Or sometimes thoughts of home.

But there is common in each time
I sit by fireside,
The magical impassioned love
That in my thoughts I hide.

For there, within the dancing light
I feel my lovers heat,
And there she loves me totally
And makes my life complete.

And so I'm grateful for those times
I see by firelight,
My love that lives within my mind,
My cherished life's delight.
